Artist Biography: Painter and printmaker; born 2 June 1900 in Basel. Emigrated to the United States in 1939. Farm and studio at Sugar Loaf, N.Y.Active with aid to emigrÈ artists, taught Robert Motherwelll among others, taught painting and printmaking at Brooklyn College 1953-1960, suicide at Sugar Loaf, NY 2 January 1962.
