Artist Biography: Born in England in 1858. Educated South Kensington Art School and in Paris. To U.S. in 1883, illustrator for D. Appleton & Co. First posters 1889/90. Mid-1890's, executed numerous posters for Scribner's and Century and commercial advertisements. After 1900 primarily a book illustrator. Died in 1926.
