Artist Biography: Go= Sharaku, Toshuhusai.active 1794-1795; Ukiyo-e printmaker. Nothing known of him except that he lived in Edo and that his 159 known prints, large scale prints of actors frequently done on a mica ground, were all created during a ten month period of 1794-1795. Possibly a No actor in the employ of the lord of Awa known as Saito Jurobei, but there is no confirmation of this,a ccording to Roberts.
