Artist Biography: Painter, engraver, and lithographer. Studied at l'Ecole des Beaux-Arts and on scholarship in Rome. Became interested in Impressionism, and along with friends Ernest Laurent and Seurat, left school. Applied an impressionistic style to rather "official" art.
