Artist Biography: Born in Aomori, Japan; studied at Nihon University in economics, Asagaya Art Academy, Fine Arts (1948-1951), San Francisco Art Institute, Graphics (1960-1963), Brooklyn Museum Art School (1963-1964), Ford Foundation grant for study at Tamarind Lithography Workshop (1968), San Francisco Art Institute, M.F.A. (1970); teaches the graphic arts at California State University, Hayward; group exhibitions throughout the U.S.; Public collections: Museum of Modern Art, N.Y.C., City of San Francisco, Pasedena Art Museum, Los Angeles County Museum, Cincinnati Museum of Art, Honolulu Academy of Art, Gruenwald (University of California, Los Angeles), Achenbach Foundation; one-man show, CPLH, 1973
