Artist Biography: Born in Fiesole, Ferrucci was trained by his father. He first came under the influence of Desiderio da Settignano, followed byAndrea del Verrocchio, whose inspiration was the greater. In fact, at one time this work was attributed to Verrocchio, so similar are the styles of the two sculptors. Ferrucci died in Florence after a career that saw his work placed in churches in Bologna and Perugia.
