Artist Biography: William G. Boardman was born in Cazenovia, New York, studied at Cazenovia Seminary in 1830, and had commenced his professional carreer as an artist in Cleveland, Ohio by 1841. He is documented as working in New Haven , Connecticut (1846) and Charlestown, MASS (1847), but from 1848-1867 he maintained a studio in New York City and was frequent exhibitor at hte American Art-Union and the National Academy of Design. Boardman later lived in Providence, Rhode Island fro, 1868-1871, and in Boston from 1874-1877. He is said to have died in Providence at the age of eighty.
